Every Irex Contracting Group manager takes full responsibility for the safety performance and well being of every person in his or her operation. Additionally, all supervisors take responsibility for the safety performance and safety of the people who report to them, and each member in the field or in the office takes responsibility for his or her own personal safety performance. Assisting these individuals is a full-time Irex safety staff of four safety professionals, one claims management professional, and an administrative assistant.
In 2008, Advanced Contracting achieved an OSHA recordable incident rate of 0.91. Its lost time incident rate was 0.11, and its current EMR is 0.86.
As a reference, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) U.S. Department of Labor latest estimates (2006) of nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses for Special Trade Contractors NAICS 23831 is 7.1 for Total OSHA Cases versus the Irex Contracting Group's rate of 2.14.
